FA130024 Blower hall with pipework (Steel works) HO

Period 3 (1921-1945) This detailed blower hall with its pipework brings an industrial atmosphere to the model railway - perfectly matched to the blast furnace model. The so-called blast furnace wind - the hot air that was essential for the smelting process in the blast furnace - was generated here with huge fans. The air flowed through an intricate network of wind pipes to the hot blast stoves, where it was heated to high temperatures.
